Useful place but needs a face lift and better toilet

An agreeable view over the park from this former Georgian House purposed as a cafe. A reasonable selection covering familiar well-trodden territory with no surprises, fair value and portion. Fairly typecast which is no criticism. Service polite and considerately disengaged - the way I prefer it.

Food was below average, though overpriced for what's effectively a hipster disguised greasy spoon. The cookies were gluten free though not labeled as such - so a little disappointing when you're expecting the real. Deal. Also not at all dog friendly. You can order inside with your dog, but you can't eat inside, and the nice grassed area threatens a 1000 fine if you have a dog there so you have to sit on one of the 2 metal tables on the path. Lovely park but disappointing cafe.

Nice views, good coffee and lovely gluten free brownies. Always worth a visit

Love this park. I've been going since my childhood. There is a pond with water fountain, beautiful views, an area where you can have fun on swings an obstacle course, walk down to the river and over the marshes. If you want something to eat there's a cafe at the top in a big house but it is definitely over priced, there is a seating area on the grass when the weather is fine. You can also go down by the river where there's another very small cafe where the prices are more affordable.
